About Office Dead Pool
Est. 2002.
Office Dead Pool was born in the middle of the dot-com bust. Layoffs were everywhere. Startups were folding. And in offices across the country, people were doing what people always do — gossiping about who was next.
We turned that into a game.
The idea was simple: if you think you know who’s about to leave, put a date on it. If you’re right, you get points. If you’re the best at it, you get the crown. The Gossip King.
That was over 24 years ago. Since then, we’ve seen tech bubbles, recessions, quiet quitting, loud quitting, return-to-office mandates, and more rounds of layoffs than anyone can count. The office changes. The game doesn’t. Because no matter what year it is, someone in your office is about to leave — and someone else already knows it.
Office Dead Pool is an entertainment-only prediction game. No real money is involved. No gambling. No one is encouraged to leave their job or be terminated. It’s a humorous game about a universal workplace experience — speculating about who’s next to move on.
What Is Office Dead Pool?
Office Dead Pool is a free workplace prediction game. You and your coworkers nominate people you think are about to leave your company, predict the departure date, and earn points when you’re right. The closer your prediction, the more points you earn. The top scorer earns the title of The Gossip King.
It’s not about money. It’s not about being mean. It’s about being right — and having fun with the people you work with while doing it.
How It Works
- Create or join your company’s pool
- Nominate coworkers and predict departure dates
- When someone leaves, the group confirms it
- Points are awarded based on prediction accuracy
- The top scorer is crowned Gossip King
The Fine Print
Office Dead Pool is an entertainment-only game. No real money is involved. We don’t encourage anyone to leave their job, get anyone fired, or harass anyone. If you see your name on the list, don’t get mad — get even. That’s Rule 6.
